Doing the DMV and the DOL with two kids and Aunt Flo
Going to get your new driver’s license and your new vehicle registration is not something I would recommend with PMS. Do not go at the end of the month, around lunch time, when you have PMS. Do not go if you do not know EXACTLY where it is. You will get lost, curse your gps and curse your anxiety. Do not go with PMS.
Do not take children.
If you have to take children, leave Sugar at least one with someone else.
Do not go with PMS.
We went yesterday and I thought I was going to have a heart attack.
We waited at the DOL for an hour– and I almost couldn’t get my license because I didn’t have my proof of address. (It’s a rule that I must always forget something.) And then on the way to the DMV I got hopelessly lost, and I started to totally lose it.
At least the children were well behaved and incredibly patient. I know Sugar would have made it a nightmare so I am glad she was with a friend.
Four hours of my life that I will never get back.
But at least I am registered and at least I didn’t cry like I did when I got my Utah license. I guess that means I am happy to be here.

Ack - I hate going to DMV. Aunt Flo or not, it’s a pain. They’re ssooooo rude too. There was a lady next to me with a very happy child. She was laughing and giggling, you know, happy. And the old man behind the counter rudely shouted across the room to the mom, “Can you shut her up!” Can you believe it? A happy child. He couldn’t take a happy child.

Those are exactly the reasons that I still have my Florida ID. I’ve been here a year and a half {ish} now and I should really bite that bullet.
And, I cried when I got my FL ID, I definitely didn’t want to be there.

Oh, how I have the DMV, and I always forget something too. Of which I am never aware until I’ve stood in line for an eternity . . . I feel your pain!
Thanks, by the way, for visiting Between the Lines recently, and even leaving a comment . . . love that! Stop by again soon . . .

Oh c’mon! Everyone loves going to the DMV! It’s such fun. I remember taking one of my kids for their drivers test and I made the mistake of sticking my head in the wrong door to ask if I was at the right place. I interupted a huge man who was scarfing down a Whopper while he clutched a greasy Burger King bag between his legs. I knew right then that if my child flunked the test it would be my fault. Actually she passed and I think it was just because he never wanted to see me again! And PMS? It rules my life. I have a category for my PMS posts on my blog.
